Ntokoto Rail (Pty) Ltd is a rail infrastructure company specialising in perway maintenance, private siding construction, and rail infrastructure services for private mining, logistics, and SOE clients in South Africa.

The Role
This is a South Africa-based role leading all stakeholder engagement, government relations, community liaison, and communications for our South African operations.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder & Government Relations

• Lead engagement with key stakeholders, including Transnet, PRASA, DMRE, DTIC, DFFE, SANRAL, municipalities, regulators, industry bodies, and local communities
• Maintain the stakeholder register and engagement plan

Community Liaison & Social Management

• Develop and implement the Community Liaison Plan, Local Content, and Social and Labour Plans
• Manage community grievances, local recruitment expectations, SMME development, and CSI initiatives on project sites

Communications & Media

• Draft press releases, stakeholder newsletters, briefing notes, and talking points for Executives
• Manage media queries, reputation management, and corporate communications

Project Communications

• Support project sites with stakeholder mobilisation, public notices, safety awareness campaigns, and client communications

Internal Communications & Reporting

• Lead internal communications
• Provide monthly stakeholder and communications reports to Group Head of Communications

Minimum Requirements

• South African citizen or permanent resident
• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Stakeholder Management, Journalism, or Development Studies
• 7–10 years' experience in Stakeholder Engagement, Communications, or Corporate Affairs, including a minimum of 3 years at Manager level in construction, mining, rail, logistics, or infrastructure
• Proven experience engaging government, SOEs (Transnet/PRASA), regulators, and local communities in South Africa
• Experience in community liaison and managing community expectations on large infrastructure projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Based in Johannesburg, South Africa

Pay: R85 000,00 per month
