Social Media

$45 - $45 USD hourly

Cherry Willow Apparel is building something bigger than fashion. We use social media to amplify the voices of people experiencing homelessness and our nonprofit partners, increase their visibility, tell our story, and inspire more people to take action in their communities.

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager who can create content, edit video, follow trends, engage across platforms, and coordinate with leadership to capture and share impact.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll work closely with leadership to repurpose existing content and create engaging content that grows our reach, strengthens our brand, and brings our mission and impact to life.

  • Create and appear in original social media content for Cherry Willow
  • Film, edit, and publish short-form video across platforms
  • Stay current on trends, formats, sounds, and platform best practices
  • Coordinate with the President and Director of Impact to capture content
  • Repurpose our extensive library of existing content with the President and Director of Impact while helping shape and capture new content
  • Build and manage a consistent content calendar and posting schedule
  • Engage with nonprofit partners, brands, creators, and community posts
  • Monitor performance, identify what resonates, and improve accordingly
  • Be hands-on, creative, responsive, and comfortable representing the brand on camera

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years in social media, content creation, digital marketing, communications, or brand management
  • Someone creative, organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple platforms and priorities
  • Demonstrated experience building a social following and producing measurable results, such as growing or managing an account with 10,000+ followers, generating 100,000+ views on individual content or 500,000+ cumulative views, and consistently producing high-performing short-form video content
  • Comfortable filming, appearing on camera, editing video, and creating engaging short-form content
  • You understand trends, platform best practices, and how to turn ideas and existing content into compelling posts
  • Experience identifying, engaging, and collaborating with micro-influencers, creators, and brand partners
  • You care about the mission and want to use storytelling to amplify voices, increase visibility, and inspire action

Why This Role Is Different:

  • This isn’t a typical social media role. You’re helping tell stories that amplify overlooked voices, elevate nonprofit partners, build community, and inspire people to take action.
  • If you like creating meaningful content, experimenting with trends, taking ownership, and using social media to create real-world impact, you’ll enjoy this.

Compensation:

  • Deferred Start: This role begins with a part-time commitment of 10–20 hours per week at $45/hour, in deferred compensation. Hourly compensation begins accruing immediately and will be released upon agreed organizational milestones.
  • Target Salary Range (Once Active): $75,000–$85,000 annually, plus a variable performance-based bonus structure tied to audience growth, content performance, engagement, and brand visibility.
  • We will provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, travel allowances, and professional development, upon transition to full-time compensation.

What Success Looks Like:

Within your first year, you will help build Cherry Willow’s social media presence into a consistent, engaging platform that increases visibility for our mission, nonprofit partners, and people experiencing homelessness.

Success means creating content that:

  • Consistently tells compelling stories across social platforms
  • Increases engagement, reach, and brand visibility
  • Amplifies nonprofit partners and people with lived experience
  • Turns existing content into relevant, timely, high-performing posts
  • Captures new content with leadership and community partners
  • Builds meaningful engagement with brands, creators, and organizations
  • Creates repeatable processes that make content creation more efficient

Success also means staying current on trends, helping leadership capture meaningful moments, maintaining a consistent content calendar, and building a social presence that people want to follow, engage with, and share.
