About the Role

Central School of Ballet is looking for a creative and strategic Marketing & Social Media Manager to lead the school's marketing, communications and brand strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, you'll play a key role in growing the school's profile across the dance sector while increasing engagement with prospective students, audiences and local communities.

This is a varied role combining digital marketing, social media, content creation, PR, event marketing and campaign management, with responsibility for promoting both Central School of Ballet and Ballet Central.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Brand

  • Lead and deliver marketing strategies across all school brands.
  • Develop annual marketing plans and manage the marketing budget.
  • Create campaigns to support student recruitment, performances and commercial objectives.
  • Produce marketing materials across print, digital and web platforms.
  • Manage and update the school's WordPress website.
  • Monitor campaign performance using KPIs including recruitment, engagement and ticket sales.
  • Support internal communications and staff engagement.

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Develop and deliver the digital content strategy.
  • Create engaging content across social media and website channels.
  • Write and edit copy for campaigns, newsletters and online news.
  • Manage community engagement across social media platforms.
  • Monitor performance and produce campaign reports.

Ballet Central Tour Marketing

  • Lead marketing campaigns for Ballet Central's national tour.
  • Manage marketing agencies, freelancers and campaign budgets.
  • Coordinate production of programmes and printed materials.
  • Work with venues to support local marketing activity.
  • Organise photography and promotional shoots.
  • Produce weekly ticket sales reports.
  • Support PR activity to maximise ticket sales.

PR & Communications

  • Manage media relations and PR agencies.
  • Handle photography, filming and press enquiries.
  • Maintain media coverage archives.
  • Support publicity campaigns and promotional opportunities.

Partnerships & Events

  • Manage relationships with freelancers and external agencies.
  • Support marketing and PR for performances and events.
  • Attend events, performances and occasional evening or weekend activities.

Administration & Reporting

  • Conduct marketing research and campaign analysis.
  • Monitor website enquiries and shared inboxes.
  • Maintain marketing calendars, databases and contact lists.
  • Support general marketing administration.

Requirements

Essential

  • 3-5 years' marketing experience.
  • Strong understanding of marketing, communications, PR and digital campaigns.
  • Experience managing social media channels and creating engaging content.
  • WordPress experience (essential).
  • Canva experience (essential).
  • Experience managing marketing budgets.
  • Experience working with external agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Good analytical, reporting and Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Interest in the arts, performing arts, dance or higher education.

Desirable

  • Experience with Mailchimp.
  • Image and video editing skills.
  • Knowledge of the dance industry or vocational arts education.
  • Collaborative, proactive approach with a passion for creative communications.
