About us
Simmer is one of the UK's fastest-growing consumer brands, built on a simple idea: healthy food should taste extraordinary.
Founded by brothers Simmy and Jhai with £10 of ingredients, we've grown into a profitable, bootstrapped £100M+ ARR business, serving tens of thousands of customers across the UK. We've been named among The Sunday Times 100 fastest-growing private companies for three consecutive years, ranking 5th in the latest list.
But we still think we're early.
Our ambition is to become the defining brand in healthy eating. We're fully founder-led, with no private equity or corporate layers. The founders still run the business, set the standard and stay deeply involved in the work. That means decisions happen quickly, ownership is real and the people who join us have the opportunity to materially shape what Simmer becomes.
We've built scale through product quality, performance marketing and founder-led storytelling. Now we're entering a new phase, where sustaining that growth will demand more than simply doing more of what has worked before.
We're looking for an exceptional growth operator who knows performance marketing inside out, but whose thinking extends far beyond the ad account. Someone who understands how to scale acquisition at significant spend levels, can distinguish genuine incremental growth from good-looking platform metrics, and knows how to connect media investment, creative effectiveness and customer economics.
We've already built a substantial acquisition engine. The opportunity now is to make it considerably more sophisticated, more effective and capable of supporting the next stage of the business. You'll work directly with our founder and alongside our commercial and creative teams, taking ownership of significant performance marketing challenges while helping shape the broader decisions that determine how Simmer grows.
This isn't a role focused on overseeing agencies or passing recommendations to another team. We want someone who can interrogate the numbers, challenge the strategy, develop compelling creative thinking and get close enough to execution to know whether it's working. Someone who's already demonstrated they can drive commercial results, but wants to apply that experience to a single business where the scale is substantial, the team is lean and the impact of their decisions is visible.
It's a rare opportunity to help shape how a profitable, bootstrapped £100M+ consumer brand grows from here, with the responsibility to solve meaningful commercial problems and the autonomy to do something about them.
What you'll be doing
Lead performance marketing at meaningful scale
You'll take a leading role in how we approach customer acquisition across paid channels, particularly Meta and Google and will develop a deep understanding of our acquisition economics, evaluate where investment is creating genuine value and help make better decisions about how and where we grow.
You'll stay close to the platforms, the data and the day-to-day realities of performance. You'll be expected to spot problems early, understand what's driving them and work out what to do next.
Bring performance and creative closer together
Some of the biggest opportunities in modern performance marketing come from better creative thinking, not simply better media buying.
You'll work closely with our creative team to understand which ideas resonate with customers, why certain approaches perform and where we should experiment next.
You'll contribute to concepts and briefs, challenge assumptions, bring insight from performance data and help create a much stronger connection between what we make and the commercial results it delivers.
We want someone with genuinely good creative instincts, not someone who sees creative as a set of assets to test.
Solve broader growth problems
You'll look beyond individual campaigns to understand the wider drivers of growth.
That could mean investigating changes in acquisition efficiency, identifying opportunities across channels, examining how customer behaviour affects our decisions or exploring where a different approach could generate better results.
You'll work closely with commercial, e-commerce and creative colleagues, bringing together different perspectives to understand problems properly before deciding how to tackle them.
We're looking for someone who can distinguish the important problems from the interesting ones, focus on what will make the biggest difference and take action.
Make our growth capability better
We're operating at significant scale with a lean team. That creates enormous opportunity, but it also means there are processes, capabilities and ways of working we can improve.
You'll help strengthen how we evaluate performance, turn insight into action, prioritise opportunities and learn from experiments.
You'll bring experience from what you've seen work elsewhere, but also the curiosity to question whether those approaches are right for Simmer.
There won't always be a playbook. We want someone who is comfortable working out what good looks like, then helping make it happen.
Who we're looking for
You might currently be a Growth Director, Performance Director or senior growth operator at a high-performing agency, working with ambitious DTC and consumer brands or you might already be in-house, owning meaningful acquisition spend for a fast-growing consumer business.
Your title matters much less than the calibre of your thinking and what you've actually delivered.
We're particularly interested in people who bring:
- Serious performance marketing expertise. You've been personally accountable for meaningful acquisition budgets and understand paid media at a technical level. You can get into the platforms, assess performance and make informed decisions without relying on someone else to interpret the numbers.
- A proven commercial track record. You can point to measurable improvements you've driven, explain the decisions behind them and distinguish your own contribution from the wider team's.
- Strong creative judgement. You understand how creative drives customer acquisition, have helped shape ideas and experiments, and can contribute more than performance reporting to a creative conversation.
- Analytical depth. You're confident working with imperfect data, questioning attribution, understanding customer economics and testing whether your assumptions are actually correct.
- Independent problem-solving ability. You can take an ambiguous challenge, work out what matters, develop a credible approach and move it forward without needing a detailed brief.
- The ability to turn thinking into execution. You don't stop at a compelling strategy. You know how to test it, implement it and evaluate whether it's delivered.
- Curiosity, humility and ambition. You've achieved enough to have strong opinions, but you're still hungry to learn, willing to be challenged and interested in understanding what you don't yet know.
We're not looking for someone whose experience is primarily managing agencies, coordinating specialists or presenting strategies developed by other people.
Equally, this isn't simply a step up for someone who's become good at optimising campaigns. We need someone who combines genuine technical depth with the judgement to tackle much broader commercial challenges.
Why join Simmer?
- Work on problems that matter. You'll be making decisions in a £100M+ business, where even relatively small improvements can have a significant commercial impact.
- See the whole picture. You'll be close to the founder and work across performance, creative and commercial , rather than being confined to one channel or a narrow set of metrics.
- Bring your ideas to life. Our lean, founder-led structure means there are few layers between identifying an opportunity, making a decision and taking action.
- Build, don't just inherit. You'll have the opportunity to improve how we operate, develop new capabilities and help shape a growth function built for the next stage of the business.
- Be part of something with real ambition. We've already achieved significant scale without outside investment, and we believe there's considerably more to build.
If you're already excellent at performance marketing, think commercially, have a genuine instinct for creative and want to apply those skills somewhere your work can make a substantial difference, we'd love to hear from you.
