About the role
Epilepsy Ireland is looking for a self-motivated fundraiser to take ownership of community and campaign fundraising. You will recruit new supporters, look after existing ones and represent Epilepsy Ireland to community groups across the country.
Key responsibilities
Fundraising development
- Help build and develop the fundraising function
- Lead Epilepsy Ireland's annual flagship fundraising campaigns
- Support major events, including Challenge campaigns, the Dublin City Marathon and the Women's Mini Marathon
- Report on fundraising performance and keep costs efficient
- Follow cash handling, banking and receipting policies
Relationship and people engagement
- Be the main point of contact for volunteers holding fundraising events
- Help coordinate and train fundraising volunteers
- Build relationships with community groups, schools, clubs and other organisations
- Handle queries from the public and keep CRM records up to date
Digital fundraising
- Work with fundraisers on online fundraising platforms
- Grow digital fundraising campaigns
- Streamline and improve digital fundraising processes
General
- Represent Epilepsy Ireland professionally at all times
- Follow organisational policies and relevant legislation
- Take part in performance management and training
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required
Essential requirements
- 1-2 years' fundraising experience, including community, events and digital fundraising
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Ability to meet targets and deadlines
- Familiarity with MS Office
- Reliable transport
Desirable
- A third-level qualification in business, marketing, arts or social science
- Campaigns fundraising experience
- Canva or other design tool skills
- Experience working with volunteers
- Supporter relationship management experience
- Sales or prospect cultivation skills
Terms of employment
- Permanent, full-time, 35 hours a week, with some evening and weekend work and travel within Ireland (time off in lieu provided)
- 22 days' annual leave plus company days on Good Friday and Christmas Eve
- 6-month probationary period
- Hybrid working from the Dublin head office
- Garda vetting in line with HSE requirements
