Garsington Opera is seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join the Development and Audiences Team as Communications & Marketing Assistant. Reporting to the Head of Communications & Marketing, this is an excellent development opportunity within a busy and ambitious team.
This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in arts marketing with a platform to expand their knowledge and take ownership of their work in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Garsington's social media strategy, including writing copy, choosing imagery, and producing regular reports
- Create and edit short-form video content for social media
- Assist with filming promotional material including production trailers and interviews
- Coordinate and design print materials including cast lists, posters, adverts and concert programmes
- Produce digital advertising assets including display ads
- Assist with website updates, email communications, and departmental administration
- Support Learning & Participation team's communication requirements
- Work on-site shifts during the Festival at Box Office and press events as required
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Excellent communication and creative skills
- Proven social media and short-form video editing experience
- Strong time management, prioritization and attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills with MS Office, web content management systems, and email marketing platforms
- Professional, adaptable team player able to work independently
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
Desirable:
- Full UK driver's license and own car
- Experience with Tessitura CRM, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite
- Interest in or knowledge of opera and classical music
