The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for video and digital content? Join Hywel Dda University Health Board as a Videographer/ Content Producer and play a key role in bringing our people, services and achievements to life.

We are looking for a creative and talented professional to join our Communications, Engagement and Welsh Language Directorate. You will be responsible for creating engaging video, photography and social media content that showcases the work of Hywel Dda University Health Board and helps us connect with our communities, staff and stakeholders.

Working closely with colleagues across the Communications, Engagement and Welsh Language teams , you will identify and develop engaging content opportunities for social media, communication campaigns and corporate initiatives. You will bring ideas to life through compelling video, photography and digital content, helping us reach and connect with diverse audiences across a range of platforms.

Our team has access to a range of professional camera and videography equipment, alongside Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other industry-standard editing software.

Main duties of the job

Working across a variety of communications campaigns and corporate initiatives, you will use your creativity and technical expertise to deliver content that informs, engages and inspires.

The successful candidate will have experience in filming, scripting, editing and producing high-quality content for digital channels, along with strong photography skills and a passion for storytelling.

Provide a comprehensive video service to Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDdUHB), ensuring all work is produced to the highest possible standards within budget constraints and timescale allowed.

Develop a range of content for the Health Board’s digital channels, including social media and the website to reach a wide number of audiences, including animations and corporate videos.

As well as creating engaging video content, you will use your photography skills to capture high-quality images that support and strengthen our communications across digital, print and social media channels.

The Communications, Engagement and Welsh Language Directorate is customer focused and involves providing support and advice to clients. The media produced is used for publication, education and promotional purposes and to enhance the reputation of the Health Board.

Working for our organisation

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.

We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

Our services are provided in:

  • Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
  • Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
  • Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
  • 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
  • Numerous mental health and learning disabilities service
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Possess a degree in film and media production or similar or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Desirable criteria
  • Degree/Diploma in Illustration/ Photography
  • Or further education qualification(s) in a media related subject with a video production component - to Degree level

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Reference based evidence of extensive practical experience in video production of a consistently high standard
Desirable criteria
  • Video and audio capture and/or production within a healthcare/educational environment
  • Working in a clinical/hospital setting. Working in a Higher Education setting

Other

Essential criteria
  • May be required to participate in ‘out of hours’ working, dependent on the needs of the organization
  • Operate a flexible work pattern, depending on service needs
  • Work away from the normal base at other locations
Desirable criteria
  • Welsh Language Skills Level 5
