Video Editor - Calfreezy

London - 6 month fixed-term contract - Opportunity to become permanent

We’re looking for a full-time editor to join the Calfreezy team in our London-based office, working across our long-form & short-form content!

A lot of the videos we do start with a fairly simple idea, but the edit is what turns that idea into a video people actually want to finish.

We don’t expect you to already know everything, but we do want someone who can eventually be trusted with an edit, solve problems and bring their own ideas rather than simply waiting for a list of notes.

This is initially a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the opportunity for the role to become a permanent long-term position.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the content team on our long-form, short-form and branded content, editing fresh projects each week for the Calfreezy Youtube channel & socials. 

• Create strong organic short-form content that works in its own right, rather than simply feeling like a clipped section of a YouTube video.

• Help develop processes & editing styles to maximise output and performance, enhancing videos using music, sound effects, and motion graphics.

• Stay up to date with the latest YouTube and social media trends relevant to our brand.

• Deliver projects to an excellent standard under tight deadlines.

• Collaborate & communicate effectively with the content team to conceptualise and execute creative ideas, incorporating feedback where needed.

What we’re looking for:

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• An understanding of the channel’s comedy style & video formats.
• Passion for the YouTube landscape and digital content.
• An instinct for pacing, storytelling & music selection.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to take feedback & improve quickly.
• Reliable and able to meet deadlines consistently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Previous experience working on YouTube content is preferred but not required.

This isn't a stepping stone to becoming a producer or videographer. There may occasionally be opportunities to attend shoots where it makes sense, but this is fundamentally an editing role.

Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract, with the opportunity to become permanent

Location: London, office-based

Start: ASAP

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 DOE - Pro-rated in line with the term length

• Tell us the video/timestamp, what you’d change and why (Maybe you’d restructure the sequence, change the music, shorten a section or remove something entirely). We're mainly interested in how you think about an edit.

1. Briefly tell us about yourself, why you’re interested in the role, what you feel you can improve on, your current location and your availability/notice period.
