Here at the John Lewis Partnership, we are looking for two Social Videographer-Editors to join us as we expand the team.

These key roles are the technical execution powerhouse within the Social Content Team. Reporting to the Social Content Art Director, your role is key to capturing both high-quality and low-fi social first footage to develop professional-grade edits produced in highly engaging, social-first video content that commands attention and drives a deep connection with our audiences across our social platforms, such as Meta and TikTok
.
You will focus on the technical craft of visual storytelling - combining expert camera work, advanced post-production, and a native understanding of social platform dynamics to turn creative concepts into social-first assets for both paid and organic usage.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £4.75 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Responsibilities, Skills and Experience

  • Salary Band  is £36,000K to £56,900K
  • Expected salary up to - We are looking for candidates up to £50K, depending on the experience you would bring to the  role
  • Contract type - These positions are permanent contracts 
  • Working pattern/flexible working -  The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs, whilst balancing the needs of the business. We typically aim for around three days a week in the office for collaboration and attendance of key meetings.  
  • Location - This role is based at our London Head Office campus in Pimlico. However, there will be travel to create content.

   Next Steps - The application process requires you to upload a recent portfolio/examples of your work, as well as your CV and answers to the application questions. An initial shortlist will be invited to a virtual Portfolio review. If successful, at this stage a final shortlist will then be invited to attend a formal interview, where you will be required to present a small project that will be provided to you in advance. 

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will leverage advanced videography expertise—mastering mirrorless/DSLR cameras, manual exposure, studio/field lighting, and multi-channel audio—to craft compelling visual content. You will drive fast-paced post-production using Adobe Premiere Pro and create dynamic motion graphics and visual effects in After Effects, with a strong focus on vertical formats (9:16), pacing, and scroll-stopping visual hooks. Working closely with creative leads, you will rapidly translate feedback into polished edits while maintaining exceptional file organisation and project structure for seamless collaboration. Additionally, you will apply strategic insights across TikTok, Meta, and Pinterest to optimise assets for both organic and paid social placements.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need

  • Proven experience as a social-first videographer and editor within a fast-paced creative environment.
  • A technical portfolio or showreel showcasing exceptional camera work, sharp editing pacing, and motion graphics capability tailored specifically for social formats.
  • Hands-on mastery of software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and/or other complementary software.
  • Proven experience managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Ability to thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines and the fast-moving nature of social media channels.

Desirable skills/experience you may have 

  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside Producers, Art Directors, and dedicated Content Creators.
  • Background creating video content within the retail, fashion, home, or lifestyle sectors.
  • Understanding of native in-app editing features to complement professional software workflows.
