Twist (The Way I See Things)
Location: Central London, Hybrid
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 FTE, pro-rated for part-time hours
Hours: Ideally 3 days per week, with flexibility to spread across 5 days
Contract: Part-time, Permanent. Freelance also considered
Seniority: Manager level
Reports to: Head of Marketing
About the Role
Twist recently welcomed its one millionth guest. With a large and engaged audience across social media, the team is looking for a Social Media Manager to take Twist's online presence to the next level.
You'll own how Twist shows up online, both behind the camera and in front of it. You'll manage the museum's social channels, create original content, build community and use data and trends to shape the content strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Twist's social media channels day to day, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn, with Instagram and TikTok as the main focus.
- Create original content both inside and outside the museum, including weekly on-site shoots and content around London.
- Become the social face of Twist, appearing regularly on camera and building a recognisable presence for the brand.
- Manage community engagement by replying to followers, joining conversations and building relationships with the audience.
- Plan content for different audiences, including families, students, date-night visitors, tourists and corporate bookers.
- Work closely with the museum team, Curator and visiting influencers to turn experiences and activity at Twist into engaging social content.
- Track engagement, reach, retention and audience metrics across all channels.
- Use performance data and insights to inform future content.
- Identify emerging social media trends and assess which are right for the Twist brand.
- Lead organic content, community management and creative direction. Paid media is handled by a separate agency.
About You
Twist is more interested in the work you've created and the audiences you've grown than a perfect CV.
You'll ideally have 3+ years' experience managing social media channels for a brand, venue, creator or agency, with demonstrable ownership of Instagram and TikTok.
You'll be:
- Comfortable on camera — able to present, speak to a lens and bring a brand's personality to life naturally.
- A content creator — confident shooting, editing and publishing strong short-form video independently and at pace.
- Fluent in Instagram and TikTok — with a strong understanding of current formats, trends and what drives performance.
- Data-driven — comfortable using native analytics and explaining what changed, why it changed and what should happen next.
- Curious — interested in the unusual, surprising and unexpected, with a desire to make people see things differently.
- Self-directed — able to shape the role, establish a consistent rhythm and take ideas from concept through to execution.
- A strong collaborator — comfortable working with the museum team, influencers and Curator to bring ideas to life.
What Success Looks Like
After six months, success in the role will include:
- A consistent publishing rhythm across all four channels, with Instagram and TikTok posting 2–3 times per week and reaching well beyond Twist's existing audience.
- A 15% increase in engagement rate and 10% follower growth across Instagram and TikTok.
- A recognisable on-camera presence for Twist that audiences engage with and return to.
- A clear, data-backed understanding of which audiences respond to different types of content, feeding into the wider marketing strategy.

Three days per week is the ideal structure, but Twist is open to splitting the workload across five shorter days to keep the social channels moving consistently.
