Social Media and Content Manager
£25,000 - £28,000 GBP yearly
Who We Are
Teens Unite is leading the way in youth cancer support. We’re an energetic, ambitious and dynamic charity improving the lives of 13-24-year-olds living with, and beyond, cancer.
We’re not here to cure cancer. We’re here to empower young people to rebuild their lives and thrive beyond a diagnosis. Young people affected by cancer are too often underrepresented and overlooked.
This role wil play a big part in ensuring their stories, and experiences with Teens Unite reach the audiences who need to hear them. This is an incredibly exciting time to join the team.
We’re growing rapidly, working alongside major brands and global organisations from YouTube to Warner Bros., influencers and celebrity ambassadors from Sidemen to SV2 and Grace Andrews - all to raise awareness, challenge perceptions and generate the vital support needed to reach more young people.
From creating content alongside high-profile partners and influencers, to capturing powerful stories and launching campaigns that turn heads, no two days are the same. And we’re about to embark on our most ambitious chapter yet.
Teens Unite is building the first purpose-built retreat in England for young people overcoming cancer - a pioneering development that will transform the support available to young people for generations to come. Every stage of that journey will create opportunities to tell powerful stories, capture incredible moments and bring people behind the scenes of something truly ground-breaking.
In the last year alone, our digital content achieved more than 2.1 million organic views across our social platforms, reaching an audience of over 500,000 people. With a social following of more than 60,000, we’re ready to take things even further. And that’s where you come in.
Who You Are
You’re proactive, creative, full of ideas, and ambitious. You’ve got your finger on the pulse of the latest social trends, and how to get noticed. You spot opportunities and act on them, suggest new approaches and aren’t afraid to try something different.
You have a natural flair for creating engaging content, capturing moments that matter, and captivating a digital audience through thought-provoking content that people want to watch, share and talk about.
Most importantly, you want your work to mean something. You’ll have the opportunity to use your creativity and digital skills to give young people affected by cancer a platform - helping to ensure their voices, experiences and challenges are seen and heard.
You’ll also thrive on seeing the tangible impact of your work - whether that’s growing our audience, increasing donations, securing new opportunities, raising awareness or seeing more young people register for the support they need.
The role:
We’re looking for an energetic and creative force of nature to take ownership of Teens Unite’s social media presence.
You’ll be responsible for managing our social platforms, bringing our work to life, and growing our presence - capturing, creating, editing, designing and writing content that stops people scrolling and inspires them to take action.
You’ll be prepared with forward planning, but ready to maximise on a moment as it happens.
You’ll conduct interviews, and place yourself at the forefront to capture the content needed to showcase the value and purpose of the support we provide, the meaningful partnerships we have with brands and organisations to make that support happen, and the personal experiences of the young people we have the privilege of supporting.
One day, you could be interviewing a young person supported by Teens Unite. The next, capturing content at a major fundraising event, collaborating with a high-profile brand or influencer, or jumping on an emerging trend with an idea that could take our reach to the next level.
This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to follow a content calendar – we want someone that’s going to create it, and experiment with trying new things.
Someone who spots opportunities we haven't seen, identifies exciting people and brands we could work with, and isn't afraid to say: “What if we tried this?”
