Media & Communications Officer - Everton Women

Who are we: Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names - a by-word for innovation, professionalism and community.
During the course of a glittering history spanning three centuries, the Club has been shaped and guided by its aspirational motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum - nothing but the best is good enough.

Alongside a Senior Men’s Team that has played more games in English football's top flight than any other, Everton Women have been a leading light in driving forward the professionalism of the women’s game.

With roots that go back to the mid-1980s, Everton Women were formally established in 1995 and won the English league title just three seasons later.

League runners-up five times in the following decade, the team also won two Women's FA Cups and a Women's League Cup before proudly becoming one of the eight founder members of the Women's Super League in 2011.

In September 2025, the iconic Goodison Park - Everton's main stadium since 1892 - became the permanent home of Everton Women, signalling the dawn of an exciting new chapter for one of the women's game most storied clubs.

About the opportunity: We are looking for an ambitious, creative and highly driven Media & Communications Officer to join our Everton Women’s Commercial team and play a key role in elevating the profile of Everton Women and our players.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional who understands the evolving landscape of women’s football and can identify opportunities to generate meaningful coverage, grow reach and engagement, and tell compelling stories across both traditional and non-traditional media channels.

You will take a proactive approach to media relations, developing strong relationships with local, regional, national and international media while ensuring Everton Women and our players are consistently represented in the best possible way.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, creative thinker and calm operator who can work effectively in a fast-paced, high-profile sporting environment.

Other Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading media and communications activity for Everton Women, proactively identifying opportunities to increase the profile of the team, players and Club.
  • Developing and delivering creative media strategies and campaigns that generate positive coverage and increase audience reach and engagement.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local, regional, national and international media, journalists, broadcasters and other key media stakeholders.
  • Acting as the primary media contact for Everton Women, including liaison with the Women’s Super League (WSL), The FA and broadcast and media rights partners.
  • Leading the delivery of WSL broadcast rights requirements, ensuring the Club fulfils all contractual media and rightsholder obligations.
  • Coordinating media activity around fixtures, training and key Club moments, ensuring opportunities are maximised across the media landscape.
  • Attending all Everton Women fixtures, home and away, providing comprehensive media support and liaison.

Who we’re looking for: We are looking for someone who is passionate about football and understands the unique opportunities and challenges within women’s football.

You will have proven experience working in a media, communications, public relations or journalism environment, ideally within professional sport or a similarly high-profile organisation.

You will be a natural relationship builder who can develop trusted relationships with journalists, broadcasters and other media stakeholders, while also being confident representing the Club in a high-pressure environment.

If you feel you have the expertise we are looking for and would thrive off becoming an integral part of our Women’s Commercial Team, then we would love to hear from you!

The role is permanent and will be based at our Finch Farm training ground in Liverpool (Halewood), however there is expected frequent travel involved within the post, working 5 out of 7 days per week, as well as home & away matchdays.
