Are you a creative and organised marketer who loves bringing great stories, experiences and events to audiences?



Whitehorse City Council is looking for a Marketing Officer (Performing Arts) to join our Marketing and Communications team and help connect our community with an exciting program of live performances at The Round. Opened 3 years ago after a $78m redevelopment, The Round has already solidified its position as a premier performing arts centre and a cornerstone of the community.



This is an exciting opportunity to work across a vibrant selection of events in the arts, within a supportive and motivating team environment. You'll play an important role in promoting performances and events at The Round, as well as supporting venue hire and in-house marketing opportunities. You'll work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders on campaign planning, delivery and reporting. You'll apply your creative and strategic skills to social, digital, email, radio, print, OOH and more.





About the role:



Reporting to the Senior Marketing Advisor (Performing Arts), you will support the delivery of integrated marketing and communications campaigns across digital and traditional channels.



Your work will include:

  • Supporting marketing campaigns for performances, events, Council initiatives and community programs.
  • Creating engaging content and marketing collateral for social media, websites, email and other channels.
  • Supporting digital marketing activities including Meta advertising, social media and email marketing.
  • Creating, distributing and monitoring eDM campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • Supporting audience engagement and database activities.
  • Liaising with internal teams, venue hirers, promoters and creative suppliers to coordinate marketing requirements.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and using analytics and audience insights to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining marketing content and digital assets across relevant platforms.
  • Keeping across emerging marketing and digital trends and bringing new ideas to the team.



You'll be primarily based between Whitehorse Civic Centre and The Round, with opportunities to attend performances, events and other activities outside standard business hours when required.





About you:



You're a capable and enthusiastic marketer who enjoys working across a variety of projects and channels. You're highly organised, have an eye for detail and can manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.



You will have:

  • A qualification in marketing, communications, public relations or a related discipline, or relevant equivalent experience - (open to new graduates)
  • Experience supporting marketing or communications campaigns across digital and traditional channels (or a portfolio of work obtained through studies/internships)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for different audiences.
  • Experience using social media and digital marketing platforms, including Meta.
  • Experience creating eDMs, preferably using Mailchimp.
  • Proficiency in Canva and other digital content creation tools, or demonstrated ability to learn tools quickly
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • A customer-focused approach and a commitment to working collaboratively.



A demonstrated interest in, the performing arts, events or cultural sector will be highly regarded. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is also desirable.
