Location: Thirsk and Easingwold / Hybrid 
Marketing experience required: 2 years

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Marketing Executive to join the Rat Race team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with some marketing experience who is looking to take the next step in their career, broaden their marketing skillset and develop their experience across multiple channels. 

Working closely with the Marketing Manager, you’ll play an important role in delivering Rat Race’s day-to-day marketing activity - helping to bring our extraordinary adventures to life through engaging email, social media and website content. 

You’ll be hands-on, organised and creative, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges. This is a varied role where no two days will necessarily be the same, and where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across the wider marketing mix.  
 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist the Marketing Manager with day-to-day marketing activity and campaigns. 
  • Create and schedule engaging email marketing campaigns. 
  • Create and schedule social media content day-to-day and on-event.  
  • Keep the Rat Race website up to date with accurate and engaging content. 
  • Help create marketing materials and campaign assets. 
  • Support event launches, promotions and key marketing campaigns. 
  • Support on-event activation when required  
  • Monitor and report on campaign and social media performance. 
  • Research trends, audiences and new marketing opportunities. 
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Rat Race team. 
     

About You 

  • Around 2 years’ experience in a marketing, communications, digital or content role. 
  • Strong written and communication skills. 
  • An eye for detail. 
  • Experience creating social media content. 
  • Organised, proactive and keen to learn. 
  • Interested in developing a broad range of marketing skills. 
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. 
  • An interest in the outdoors and being active and the ability to work outside in dynamic environments. 
  • A full driving license. 
     

Desirable:  

  • Experience using Mailchimp,  
  • Experience with social scheduling tools or basic analytics/SEO.

Development & Travel Opportunity 

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their marketing career. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Manager and Managing Director and gain hands-on experience across email, social media, website, campaigns and digital marketing, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as your skills develop. 
You will be required to attend some Rat Race events in the UK as part of your marketing role and you will be given the opportunity to travel globally on events if you wish.
