Marketing and Communications Executive

Huddersfield Town Foundation is looking for a creative, proactive and organised Marketing and Communications Executive to join its Central Team and help tell the story of the Foundation’s work across Kirklees and Yorkshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Foundation’s marketing and communications strategy, with storytelling at the heart of the role. You’ll identify powerful stories, build relationships with colleagues, participants and partners, and turn real experiences into compelling content that demonstrates the impact of the Foundation’s work.

You’ll help promote the Foundation’s activities across social media, digital, print, media and stakeholder channels, while supporting campaigns, fundraising activity, events and internal communications.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Foundation’s marketing and communications strategy.
  • Manage and develop social media activity, driving audience growth and engagement.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including local media, partners and sponsors.
  • Support PR and media relations and generate positive coverage of the Foundation’s work.
  • Develop engaging campaigns and stories that raise awareness of the Foundation’s programmes, fundraising activity and impact.
  • Work with programme teams, participants and partners to identify stories and create case studies, testimonials and other marketing content.
  • Produce content including newsletters, brochures, social media posts, website content and the annual impact report.
  • Analyse marketing and communications data to measure performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Support internal communications to ensure staff and volunteers are informed and engaged.
  • Oversee event marketing and promotion to maximise reach and participation.
  • Ensure communications are clear, authentic, inclusive and aligned with the Foundation’s brand and strategic priorities.

About you

The successful candidate will have experience creating engaging content for social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

You’ll be comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines, working collaboratively and building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. Experience in marketing, communications, PR, media or digital marketing is desirable, whether gained through paid employment, an internship, placement, apprenticeship, volunteering or a university project.

Experience using tools such as Meta Business Suite, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite would be an advantage, as would experience in events, fundraising, internal communications or the charity/not-for-profit sector.

You’ll also need creativity, initiative, strong organisational skills and the ability to turn evidence, insight and lived experience into compelling stories.
