### About Hearst UK
Hearst UK is a premium publisher behind brands such as Esquire, Men's & Women's Health, ELLE, Good Housekeeping, Harper's Bazaar, Digital Spy, Cosmopolitan and Red. Teams work in person at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, London, with flexible Fridays.
Salary depends on experience and is assessed against your skills, knowledge and expertise.
### The role
As Head of Onsite Video, you'll lead the creation, editing and development of video that sits inside editorial articles on ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Country Living, Women's Health and Good Housekeeping. You'll be part of the central Video team and report to the Director of Video.
The role is onsite video only. The work ranges from same-day coverage and timely trend and seasonal pieces to evergreen video built to last. You'll decide how each story should work as video, choosing the right format, pace and treatment. You'll edit hands-on and set the standard for onsite video across the business.
You'll work with brand editorial teams to find where video adds real value to high-traffic articles, improve planning and commissioning, and advise senior stakeholders. You'll use performance data to shape future commissioning, and challenge briefs where video won't add value.
### Main duties
- Lead the creation and editing of high-quality onsite video across the portfolio
- Edit key pieces yourself, from brief to delivery, setting the creative, editorial and technical standard
- Develop templates, workflows and brand guidelines for fast, efficient production
- Work with editorial teams to find video opportunities that match editorial priorities and high-traffic content
- Advise editors and senior stakeholders on format, treatment and timing, and challenge where needed
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines across brands
- Track and analyse video performance to guide future commissioning and editing
- Turn insight into clear, practical recommendations
- Keep editorial, technical and brand standards consistently high
- Build trusted relationships with editors, journalists, producers and senior stakeholders
### What they're looking for
- Significant editorial video experience and a strong portfolio of editing and storytelling
- Expert or highly confident use of Adobe Premiere Pro
- Strong editorial judgement and storytelling across different subjects
- Experience shaping video strategy, commissioning or editorial workflows in digital publishing
- An understanding of how video supports digital journalism and audience growth
- Experience working across multiple brands, audiences or editorial teams
- Confidence using performance data to make practical recommendations
- An analytical, commercially aware approach
- Excellent organisation and project management under tight deadlines
- Strong stakeholder skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively
- A strong grasp of brand identity across multiple brands
- A proactive, collaborative approach, and the confidence to say no when it's right
### Benefits
- Beauty and food testing panels and office sample sales
- Specsavers eye care, a Health Cash Plan, mental health support, discounted gym membership and Cycle to Work
- Location Flex, Holiday Exchange, a Charity Day and employee resource groups
- Workplace pension, income protection, life assurance and season ticket loan
- Financial wellbeing tools and discounts across London
