CONDUCTR

Head of Marketing

CONDUCTR Hybrid (Manchester, England, United Kingdom) Full-time 9 hours ago
Marketing

£65,000 GBP yearly

This is an opportunity to build and lead the marketing function across the CONDUCTR Group. Each part of the business is connected by a shared focus on creating exceptional immersive experiences through creativity, technology and innovation. Today, this includes:

  • CONDUCTR, where our story began, delivering landmark B2B attractions and experiences for clients around the world
  • Game Volt, our global portfolio of B2B products and technology, helping venues and operators create and deliver engaging experiences
  • CONDUCTR Originals, the newest part of the business, developing and operating our own venues and consumer experiences, currently in the UK

And we’re always evolving, with the curiosity and ambition to explore new ideas, new opportunities and entirely new areas of the business.

We’re looking for a strong, hands-on senior marketer who can bring greater strategy, direction and consistency to how we market each area of the business, while recognising that each has its own audiences, objectives and story to tell.

You might already be a Head of Marketing, or you may be an ambitious senior marketer who has learned from a brilliant team and is ready to step up and build something of your own. Either way, you’ll need to be comfortable moving between strategy and delivery.

A major part of the role will be developing how the CONDUCTR Group, and the businesses within it, position and communicate themselves to the market. We need to communicate the thinking behind the work: the problems we solve, the technology and expertise that make it possible, why our approach is different and, crucially, why any of that matters to our clients and customers.

You’ll help us turn what makes each part of the Group distinctive into clear, compelling positioning and messaging that speaks the language of the audiences we want to reach.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and own the overall marketing strategy for the CONDUCTR Group, creating clear priorities, plans and measures of success across CONDUCTR, Game Volt and CONDUCTR Originals.
  • Build the marketing function from the ground up, establishing the processes, tools, rhythms and partnerships we need without assuming that a large internal team needs to exist from day one.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to connect marketing activity with the commercial ambitions of the business.

Brand & Positioning

  • Develop a deep understanding of what makes CONDUCTR different and translate that into a compelling proposition for the market.
  • Own and evolve our brand positioning, ensuring that the way we present ourselves reflects both the quality of our work and the depth of expertise behind it.
  • Create clear messaging for different audiences, sectors and propositions rather than relying on one generic CONDUCTR story.

B2B Marketing

  • Build a sophisticated B2B marketing approach that reaches and resonates with the clients and partners we want to work with.
  • Help us communicate complex creative and technological capabilities in language that is relevant, accessible and commercially meaningful.
  • Work closely with our leadership, creative, technology and commercial teams to uncover the stories, expertise and points of view that demonstrate why clients should choose CONDUCTR.
  • Develop thought leadership and content that goes beyond showcasing finished projects to demonstrate our understanding of the industry, technology, audiences and the challenges our clients are trying to solve.

Content, Social & Communications

  • Own the strategic direction of our content and social channels, ensuring everything we put into the world has a clear audience and purpose.
  • Develop an effective content strategy across channels and formats.
  • Identify opportunities for PR, partnerships, events, awards, industry conversations and other activity that strengthens CONDUCTR's reputation.
  • You don't need to personally create every asset, but you should know what excellent looks like and be willing to get involved when needed.

Projects, Products, Venues & Experiences

One of the interesting challenges of this role is the breadth of what we do. You'll need to develop marketing approaches across different parts of the business, including:

  • major projects and client work
  • CONDUCTR's products and technology
  • venues and destinations
  • new launches and propositions
  • consumer-facing experiences such as Gameface

That means being equally comfortable thinking about a long-term B2B relationship with a major client and the launch of an experience designed directly for consumers.

We're less interested in a particular job title and more interested in what you've learned and what you're ready to take ownership of.

You should have:

  • Strong experience across multiple marketing disciplines rather than specialising solely in one area.
  • Excellent B2B marketing instincts and an understanding of how sophisticated clients research, evaluate and choose partners.
  • Experience developing positioning, propositions and messaging for complex businesses.
  • The ability to understand technology and translate technical capability into compelling customer value.
  • Strong brand judgement and an understanding of how brand, content, social, communications and commercial marketing work together.
  • Experience creating marketing strategy and then turning it into practical activity.
  • The confidence to challenge existing thinking and introduce new ideas.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding that great marketing ultimately needs to create value for the business.
  • The ability to work with senior stakeholders while also rolling your sleeves up and getting things done.
  • The ability to manage agencies, freelancers and specialist partners effectively.
  • A strong understanding of audiences and an instinct for adapting messaging rather than communicating to everyone in the same way.
  • Curiosity, ambition and an exceptional appetite for learning.

It would be great if:

  • You've worked in or around leisure, entertainment, themed entertainment, attractions, venues, hospitality or the wider experience economy.
  • You'll understand businesses where physical environments, audiences, technology, entertainment and commercial outcomes come together.
  • You don't need to be an engineer, but you should be genuinely curious about technology. You'll want to understand how things work rather than treating technology as a buzzword.
  • You'll also have a strong external radar. You notice businesses doing interesting things, understand why their marketing works and constantly bring new thinking into the organisation.

The Person:

  • This role will suit someone who sees an exciting amount of possibility rather than an intimidating amount of blank paper.
  • You'll be joining a business with brilliant work, deep expertise and plenty of stories to tell but with an opportunity to create much greater clarity around how all of that translates into a powerful position in the market.
  • You'll be ambitious without needing a huge team, strategic without becoming detached from execution, and creative without losing sight of commercial outcomes.
  • You'll ask questions. You'll learn quickly. You'll challenge us. And you'll get things done.
  • Most importantly, you'll help CONDUCTR move from simply showing people what we've made to making them understand why we matter

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic work environment.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • A chance to be part of a forward-thinking team making a real difference.
