The Digital Content Producer is a key role within the digital and brand team, reporting to the Senior Digital Communications and Marketing Manager. The postholder will work across the institute to improve the quality and consistency of digital content, amplify the Turing’s research, and build stronger relationships with key audiences. This position will take ownership of the digital content function and lead on audiovisual content creation that strengthens the Institute’s reputation, showcases impact and supports partner, stakeholder and public engagement.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Digital Content Producer is responsible for creating, managing and publishing high-quality audiovisual content across the Turing's digital channels. From concept to delivery, the role leads the production of video, audio and multimedia content that brings the Turing's work, values and impact to life ensuring every piece is engaging, on-brand and optimised for its intended platform and audience.Working collaboratively across the communications and engagement directorate, the role plays a key part in shaping how the Turing tells its story through moving image and sound, supporting everything from short-form social content to longer-form documentary and event coverage.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Managing and directing video shoots on-off-site, livestreams and capturing content at events
Provide expert consultation on the facilitation and strategic planning of content production including best practice around accessibility, health and safety, and legalities such as consent and licensing.
Work through the entire production lifecycle, from creating or interpreting briefs, storyboarding, conceptualisation, production management, post-production workflow and delivery to multiple specifications.
Leading tender processes with responsibility and oversight of project with third parties, contractors or freelancers to ensure the Turing acquires optimal products and services when interacting with digital media and production.
Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring a smooth and professional production experience.
Contribute to the life of the Institute and support diverse and inclusive community through embracing the Turing values.
Some occasional out of hours work where required (for events tech support and editing)
Consistent commitment to personal development and upskilling the workforce to maintain technical knowledge to a high industry standard
ABOUT YOU
Considerable experience in developing video and digital media strategy
Significant level skills in audio production and sound design
Significant post-production video editing skills using Adobe Premiere and After Effects
Broad knowledge of media law (particularly copyright), ethical considerations regarding video or audio recording of individuals and licensing content.
Ability to delegate workload and resource forecast
Educated to degree level (in a relevant field) with significant experience at operating level

The Alan Turing Institute is based at the British Library, in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter. We expect staff to come to our office at least 4 days per month. Some roles may require more days in the office; the hiring manager will be able to confirm this during the interview.
