Creative Content Lead
Lincoln Cathedral
Lincoln Cathedral is looking for a creative and versatile Creative Content Lead to join its Commercial Services team.
The successful candidate will be the creative engine of Lincoln Cathedral, leading the creation and delivery of compelling visual, digital and multimedia content that brings the Cathedral’s heritage, faith, people and commercial activity to life.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you’ll turn marketing strategies and campaign priorities into high-quality creative content across social media, digital, web and print. The role has a particular focus on video, graphic design, social storytelling and photography.
You’ll create engaging content that attracts new audiences, strengthens engagement and increases the visibility of the Cathedral and its diverse range of activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of engaging, audience-focused content, particularly for social media, digital storytelling and video.
- Produce high-quality, video-first social content tailored to different platforms and audiences.
- Develop creative ideas and storytelling approaches that bring the Cathedral’s heritage, faith, people and activities to life.
- Turn complex stories and information into clear, compelling and accessible content.
- Identify opportunities for timely and reactive content around events, services, seasonal activity and behind-the-scenes stories.
- Adapt and repurpose content across different formats and platforms to maximise reach and engagement.
- Provide professional graphic design support across campaigns, posters, flyers, promotional materials, digital assets and social media graphics.
- Develop creative concepts and visual treatments that support campaigns and maintain a consistent Cathedral identity.
- Create, manage and publish platform-specific content across the Cathedral’s social media channels.
- Develop a consistent pipeline of content to strengthen the Cathedral’s digital presence and audience engagement.
- Create and maintain engaging website content.
- Monitor content performance and use audience insights and analytics to improve future activity.
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing to deliver creative campaigns and marketing priorities.
- Collaborate with teams across the Cathedral, including visitor activity, events, venue hire, retail, hospitality, education, music, culture and community activities.
- Support event promotion through timely creative content and on-site content capture.
- Manage multiple creative projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Maintain organised systems for creative assets, content planning and brand materials.
About You
We’re looking for someone with proven professional experience in creative content, social media and graphic design, supported by a strong portfolio of work.
You should have:
- Strong graphic design skills and professional experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Proven experience creating high-quality, video-first social content.
- Excellent storytelling and visual communication skills.
- The ability to develop creative ideas from concept through to production and publication.
- A strong understanding of social media, digital content trends and audience engagement.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the confidence to work across a complex organisation.
- The ability to respond creatively to changing priorities and opportunities.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Professional video production and editing.
- Photography, animation or motion graphics.
- Working within a heritage, cultural, tourism, charitable or visitor attraction environment.
- Creating content for a faith, historic or values-led organisation.
- Website content management, SEO, analytics and digital performance.
- Paid social or digital promotion.

Salary & Benefits
💰 Salary: £35,000 per annum
⏰ Hours: 35 hours per week
📅 Contract: Permanent
🏖️ Holiday: 33 days per annum, including 8 bank holidays
