About Us

The Australian Natural Soap Company creates natural, Australian-made skincare using pure local ingredients. We’re proudly plastic-free, palm-oil-free, and grounded in strong ethics, sustainability, and honest, down-to-earth storytelling.

We’re a small, close-knit team where your work truly matters. You’ll have the chance to make a real impact, grow quickly, and be part of a brand that stands for something bigger than selling products.

About the Role

This is a role for a unique thinker at the start of their career — someone with energy and curiosity, the intelligence to back it, and a fresh set of eyes we actually want to be changed by. You won’t be handed a playbook to follow; you’ll help us question the one we’ve got. We’re looking for someone to think outside the box with our founder — not someone to slot into a marketing machine.

You’ll help build the human voice of our brand — producing content, hosting our community, and telling the story behind what we make to people who genuinely want to understand it. You’ll work directly with our founder, a former broadcast journalist, learning storytelling first-hand, and alongside our Marketing Coordinator, who runs the calendar, campaigns and email while you focus on content and community. We’re about to go all-in on organic content across our channels, and this role is at the heart of that.

We care far more about how you think than what you’ve done. This is a first real job that we’ll shape around the right person — and we’ll back you to bring ideas we haven’t thought of.

Above all, this is a chance to do work that matters, for something that matters — in a small team where what you make is genuinely seen and felt.

What You’ll Be Doing

Community & Engagement

•   Hosting and helping grow our Facebook group with conversation, prompts and genuine interaction

•   Engaging with customers in comments and DMs in a warm, human voice

•   Nurturing the connection between our customers and the brand

Content Creation

•   Creating organic content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest

•   Producing our founder for video — planning, prompting, filming and coordinating the edit

•   Capturing behind-the-scenes and product content at our Dandenong and West Melbourne sites

•   Using tools like CapCut, Canva and AI to produce and edit efficiently

Storytelling & Research

•   Researching the substance behind our products — ingredients, sourcing, environmental issues and customer questions

•   Thinking outside the box to turn that substance into clear, credible, original content

Working With the Team

•   Working alongside our Marketing Coordinator on content timing and the calendar

•   Working with our creative team on edits, design and ad builds

•   Getting hands-on with the wider team during our peak periods (November and June)

Training & Development

A key part of this role is development. You’ll have access to one of Australia’s leading ecommerce training programs, direct mentoring from our founder, and the freedom to bring fresh ideas and be backed to run with them.

Who You Are

•   A unique thinker with a fresh set of eyes — you see things differently and aren’t afraid to say so

•   The energy, curiosity and drive of someone at the start of their career

•   Intelligent and independent — you form your own views and back them

•   A recent graduate, or a student in your final semester — in any field; how you think matters more than what you studied

•   No experience required — a fresh perspective is the point; and if you’ve already spent a year or two making content, even better

•   A strong, natural writer with an authentic voice

•   A capable researcher who likes getting to the bottom of things and explaining them well

•   Deep empathy for people and the planet, and a real collective spirit

•   Comfortable on both sides of the camera, and filming simple content on your phone

•   Keen to use content and AI tools — CapCut, Canva and AI research and drafting tools — or quick to learn them

•   Someone who wants to do things differently, not just do the done thing

You don’t need a background in skincare, sustainability or marketing. If you’re a sharp, original thinker who cares about people, we’d like to hear from you.

What We Offer

•   A permanent role that’s yours to shape, in a growing, purpose-driven business

•   The freedom to bring fresh ideas — and be backed to run with them

•   Direct mentoring from a founder with a broadcast journalism and marketing background

•   Access to one of Australia’s leading ecommerce training programs, plus ongoing development

•   Broad, hands-on experience across content, community and storytelling

•   Hybrid working — home-based, plus our Dandenong factory and West Melbourne site

•   Generous product allowance and employee discount

•   Birthday leave

•   A supportive, values-led team where your work is seen and appreciated

•   The rare chance to help question and reshape how a brand talks to its people

Salary

$53,000 – $65,000 + super, depending on experience. We’re open to a sharp graduate at the base of the range, through to someone with a year or two of content experience at the top — we’ll match the pay to what you bring, and review it at six months.
