SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Is responsible for the communication strategy of the innovation unit, the writing and multimedia design of publications, their editing and their publication on the platforms. Writes publications, articles or other documents relating to team initiatives and adopts a format and format adapted to the needs, independently or in collaboration with team members or experts guests. Conducts research, collects the documentation necessary for publications and produces content aimed at fostering dialogue with the laboratory’s clienteles.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Is responsible for leading and executing all communications activities regarding initiatives and trials conducted by the unit.
  • Develops communication strategies for the entire unit and for each project assigned to the team.
  • As a member of the team, takes part in discussions and contributes to reflection on the unit’s activities, namely innovation in production practices, creation formats, marketing, diffusion and distribution cinematographic works.
  • Participates in trial ideation and planning meetings (prototype, test, research) and contributes to them with analyzes of their ability to inspire and generate support and commitment from the unit’s clienteles.
  • Plans communications relating to the team’s tests, projects and initiatives in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Participates in the search for comparable references in terms of innovation, writes articles on these subjects and ensures their dissemination via their publication.
  • Guides and supports team members or invited experts in documenting trials to ensure understanding of them when publishing articles on the subject.
  • Establishes publication directories, maps communication platforms as well as internal and external clienteles and develops these networks in accordance with strategies.
  • Communicates and explains innovation opportunities to the NFB’s creation, marketing, distribution and technical resources teams as well as to the unit’s other clienteles.
  • Conducts strategic monitoring, stays on the lookout for digital practices and new technologies in terms of cinematographic creations and audience engagement and actively participates in team discussions on this subject.
  • Continuously familiarizes himself with the team’s tools, concepts, projects and initiatives in order to maximize the impact of the unit’s publications within the NFB and externally.
  • Implements community growth and engagement strategies through an active online presence; builds relationships within networks and with key multiplier partners; cultivates exchanges and conversations about initiatives, projects and trials undertaken by the innovation unit.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, digital media, film production, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in marketing, community management, or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the digital industry and relationship marketing issues.
  • Good knowledge of tools and applications used in managing online communities.
  • Good knowledge of current and emerging trends regarding production methods, formats and their distribution in the cinematographic field.
  • Demonstrated experience using several design, writing and editing software and tools.
  • Bilingualism in both official languages ​​(French and English), orally and in writing.
