The Academy of Music for the Blind (AMB) is the foremost institution dedicated to delivering a comprehensive music education for visually impaired youth. As the sole institution of its kind globally, AMB is uniquely positioned to address the distinctive talents and challenges of blind students through its curriculum in music and the performing arts. WHAT WE NEED:

Despite the remarkable strides AMB has made over the last twenty years in educating blind youth, there are hundreds more students across the nation that remain unaware that an education in music and the performing arts is accessible through our academy. While we recognize the power social media has in raising awareness and generating support, we have not yet fully harnessed it to further these goals. To that end, we are seeking a social media manager who not only has the proven expertise and experience required but is also inspired by our mission. This person can make a difference by playing a pivotal role in guiding AMB towards expansive growth, ensuring that every deserving blind student can thrive through music and the performing arts.

WHO YOU ARE:

AMB is seeking a social media manager who thrives on making an impact and has their sights set on limitless growth. Coupled with a proven track record of strategic thinking and execution, you possess a keen understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within our field. You are the architect of our social media strategy, a highly skilled storyteller who can craft compelling content, foster meaningful interactions, and drive engagement across all our platforms. This role is pivotal in developing and executing a dynamic social media presence that fosters growth and enhances our connection with the community. With an untapped source of inspirational content, you will set benchmark goals that, when achieved, will help to further our vision by spreading awareness, advancing our volunteer program, increasing the student body, and, in keeping with best practices, creating inspirational content that drives donor acquisition and retention.

WHAT YOU DO:

Strategy & Positioning: Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that is aligned with our brand objectives and audience targets. Innovate and brainstorm new ideas and directions for social media content and marketing campaigns.

 

Reporting & Analytics: Analyze our social media data and metrics to track performance, reach, ROI, and optimize our content strategy. Regularly report on performance metrics across platforms and campaigns.

 

Platform Management: Operations of all social media channels, including content scheduling, monitoring, and engagement. Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, integrating them into our strategy as appropriate.

 

Content creation: Along with new content, we have an untapped archive of incredible video from which you will develop, produce, and edit engaging content that resonates with our audience, is optimized for each platform, accessible to all, and, importantly, uses storytelling to create emotional connections.

 

Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community among supporters by executing strategies to grow and engage our community across all channels. Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely manner.

 

Communication & Collaboration: Maintain strong communication and collaboration with our teaching staff, students, and parents to optimize organic content. Collaborate with internal teams to align social media efforts with AMB’s academic, performance, and fundraising calendars. Build and maintain relationships with influencers, music industry partners, and other relevant organizations that can help amplify AMB’s reach and goals.
