Job Introduction

We’re looking for a strategic, experienced and creative social media leader to be our Social Media Manager – BBC Three, responsible for leading the social campaigns for some of the very biggest TV programmes at the BBC, with a strong focus on BBC Three.

Line managing a team of four and reporting to the Head of Social, iPlayer and Three, the role will help deliver a coherent, consistent social media experience for UK 16-34s, with a strong focus on U24, working closely with the TV Social Production, Edit and Planning teams as well as other promotional, editorial and production teams at the BBC, to ensure each campaign delivers on the agreed social strategy, maximises engaged reach with young audiences, delivers content of the highest creative quality, and drives traffic around the BBC portfolio and reaches youth audiences at scale.

This is an incredible opportunity to demonstrate your editorial and strategic skills within the social media discipline and lead a team as the Social Media Manager across BBC Three.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee a range of social media campaigns, acting as the strategic and editorial lead for those campaigns across all social platforms, working closely with the Publishing, Production, Edit and Planning teams to align strategy
  • Help lead BBC TV’s strategic and creative development in the social space, setting strategy at a campaign level
  • Work closely with Commissioning to plan/guide social activity around priority programmes
  • Manage team resource and processes to ensure that we maximise our UK under-35 engaged reach at a campaign level
  • Ensure social campaigns are delivering on our agreed Quality metrics, as well as achieving scale
  • Work closely with the relevant Content stakeholders to align programme priorities and social activity, reporting to senior stakeholders as required
  • Work closely with the social Publishing, Production and Edit teams to ensure programme, asset and account priorities are aligned
  • Work closely with Production and digital production teams to plan/guide social media activity
  • Work closely with Marketing, Media Planning and Creative to align organic social, paid social and marketing campaigns
