About our team/Mō te tīma

The Marketing Services Department is made up of five teams:
•    Our in-house Creative Services team (including the Producer Brand Content role) leads how our brand is presented;
•    Future Student Marketing manages and delivers marketing activities to recruit students;
•    Divisional Marketing Advisors champion the needs of our academics’ subject areas;
•    The Web Experience team owns the University website and other digital applications;
•    An Events team delivers a wide range of events for students, academics, and alumni.

While each area has its own responsibility to provide expert advice and initiatives to attract students and raise the profile of the University, there will be a large amount of collaboration at a project level.

The Marketing Services Department has an exciting year ahead, with core projects including our brand launch, full web transformation, and lofty recruitment goals.

The role/Te mahi

As Producer Brand Content, you will play a crucial role in managing and producing marketing content to promote the University’s brand, academic offerings, events, and partnerships. This role requires you to keep tauira (students) at the heart of your work, and to create engaging and authentic stories primarily for digital channels.

Your day may include:
•    Researching and responding to category trends;
•    Pitching ideas to clients, and collaborating with clients to ensure their needs are met as much as resource and capacity allows;
•    Working with designers and writers to ensure aesthetic and tone of voice are consistent;
•    Taking an iterative and evidence-based approach to content production, providing feedback on work to your team and clients;
•    Organising or directing photo- or video-shoot days;
•    Aligning content plans and calendars to the University and Marketing Department strategy;
•    In line with the University’s Pae Tata strategy, you will be supported to continue upskilling in te reo me ngā tikanga Māori.

Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

We are looking for an experienced marketing professional with the following:
•    Tertiary level qualification, or equivalent experience, in a creative or marketing discipline;
•    Proven experience in digital creative production in a medium-sized or complex organisation;
•    End-to-end creative campaign or production delivery experience;
•    Strong client and stakeholder relationship management skills;
•    An understanding of creative project budgets;
•    Proficiency in studio, creative, and design software;
•    Good knowledge of social media and online community platforms;
•    Central to our strategy is becoming a Te Tiriti-led University. Knowledge of markets, marketing relationships, and networks specific to Māori and/or Pacific audiences is an advantage.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent role, located in Dunedin.
