About the role

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Marketing Manager to lead the Marketing team across the Good Food Show portfolio, who has previously operated in a Senior Marketing role, ideally within the event or exhibitions space or experience led marketing campaigns. You will have responsibility for putting together the strategy for the Good Food Show Summer, Good Food Show Winter and Good Food Festival at Goodwood Racecourse, with the support of your team, consisting of two junior marketeers. As well as the overall strategy, you will also be responsible for developing and building relationships with the wider GF team, whilst also fostering new and existing partnerships, identifying opportunities and revenue. You will also work closely with our central marketing team, including on paid digital campaigns, data and web, as well as best practice across the wider Immediate Live business.

You enjoy thinking creatively to deliver a first-class multi-channel marketing campaign, putting in place a content led strategy with a focus on attracting the right visitors to our events, whilst hitting financial targets and visitor numbers. You’ll also work closely with the wider Good Food Show team, including the Event Director, Sales team and Editorial team to create a best in class marketing campaign, as well as the wider Good Food Brand team including central marketing team and subscriber teams. The role will suit an organised person, who enjoys looking forward and putting together plans and strategies for future success, whilst being able to be flexible to the changing market and conditions, keeping a close eye on performance against target and reacting accordingly throughout the campaigns.

 

As a Marketing Manager you will;

  • Be responsible for developing a visitor marketing strategy and detailed marketing plans with a compelling visitor proposition and all year-round view in collaboration with the wider event team and Good Food brand team
  • Manage detailed event marketing budgets and campaign trackers, making informed, evidence-based decisions on spend, and keeping the Event Director informed on progress, identifying any future challenges early on
  • Deliver visitor revenue and volume targets on each event, managing your team for effective delivery and adjusting weekly forecasts and plans where necessary
  • Deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns including print and online advertising, direct mail, email and partnerships, social media and PR campaigns, as well as identifying any new channels that should be introduced into the campaigns
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with Good Food marketing and subscriber teams, maximising opportunities across all customer, subscriber and visitor touch points
  • Responsible for identifying and developing strategic partnerships within the wider business as well as opportunities with exhibitors, sponsors and new partners
  • Develop briefs and manage appointment and effective management of external agencies and suppliers including; creative, box office, print & media buying and PR
  • Manage brand and campaign identity and messaging around content, ensuring all are delivered with appropriate tone of voice and aligned with Good Food
  • Ensure ongoing measurement, evaluation and adjustment of campaign and website performance utilising Google Analytics, ticket sales reports and campaign tracker, as well as visitor surveys to fully understand our visitor behaviours
  • Understand the requirements of campaigns and the team to effectively manage workflow and career development
  • Manage the creation and production of impactful marketing materials with well written and accurate copy.
  • Ensure event websites are kept fully up to date with compelling and diverse content, are accurate and effectively presented and the user experience is fully optimised, working alongside central digital team
  • Produce weekly reports, updating the wider Good Food Show team on ticket sales and revenue, with accuracy and presented in an informative way with clear recommendations and learnings
  • Oversee and manage the development of existing visitor databases and the acquisition of new data, with visitor cohorts and messaging in mind
  • Produce post-show reports, analysing the effectiveness of the campaigns, gaining further insight into the events and make informed recommendations for the strategic development of the events, in turn influencing the event strategies
  • Work in close collaboration with sponsorship and sales teams supporting in the delivery of sponsorship agreements and exhibitor marketing and to identify opportunities for potential partnerships
  • Network and build relationships within the wider business and events industry to gain contacts, build knowledge and understand how we maintain a competitive edge in attracting audiences across each event

Requirements

  • Experience in event programming and content generation
  • Demonstrable market and industry knowledge
  • The ability to think creatively and analytically both short and long term, and articulate this in a business format
  • Desire to network with others to build a better business and identify opportunities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with excellent time management
  • Demonstrable experience in a senior marketing role, with experience in multi channel marketing
  • An excellent understanding of all marketing channels with demonstrable experience leading and managing online and offline campaigns, marketing databases, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Effective leader, coach and mentor with experience managing and motivating a team
  • Clear communicator and strong interpersonal skills, with excellent listening skills
  • Good knowledge of GDPR
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking with ability to utilise measurement and evaluation tools
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising strategic campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in marketing and measurement
