Summary:  The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the Marketing lead for all Athletic Initiatives, including strategy, plan development, plan activation and day-to-day management.  This candidate will also be responsible for budgetary, project management and creative strategy functions.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the development, implementation and management of an integrated marketing strategy and plan including (but not limited to) email, social media, direct mail, videos, web, collateral, SMS, advertising, etc. for assigned campaign(s).
  • Support the planning and execution of enterprise-wide efforts that directly impact Athletic Initiatives
  • Collaborate with campaign team, aligning on overall goals and objectives.  Develop required strategic documents (i.e., SWOT analysis, Strategic framework, creative brief) and obtain input in preparation for integrated plan development.  Present integrated plans for input and approvals.
  • Serve as point person for all assigned campaign(s) initiatives, working cross functionally with both internal teams (creative, digital, social, etc.) as well as external partners (Zero Gravity, Merkle, Invisible Man, etc.) ensuring collaboration & consistent strategy to meet business goals.
  • Responsible for supporting relevant research needs, interpreting data and applying insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions that identify innovative ways to support campaign(s) and reach constituents, including tech capabilities and influencer/new platform strategies.
  • Lead creative strategy and implementation through the creative brief process, collaborating with creative and the broader Constituent Experience team.  Collaborate with agencies (e.g., Zero Gravity) on development of assets.  Ensure consistency in messaging across all channels.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Advertising on select media opportunities.
  • Analyze and present plan results for assigned marketing and digital programs to senior management.
  • Develop and manage campaign budgets.  Allocate approved funds based on campaign priorities, goals & activations. Manage planned spend with vendor (ensuring we are appropriately using designated spend per event).  Develop budget tracking template, as needed.
  • Spearhead project management for assigned campaign(s), ensuring that all assets are delivered on a timely basis
  • Work cross-functionally and across the organization in a managerial capacity for assigned opportunistic projects.
  • Manage all day-to-day operations for assigned campaign(s)
  • Work with Legal, as needed

Education & Experience Requirements:

  •   3-5 years of marketing, including digital marketing experience.  Fundraising marketing experience preferred.
  • Non-profit experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree

Position Requirements: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to larger audiences.
  • Proven ability to successfully navigate a matrixed organization.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership with the ability to influence across teams
  • Experience in executing digital strategy and understanding of content development is a huge plus.
  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively a must.
  • Connection to Mission a plus.  Understanding of and/or sensitivity to underserved populations a plus.  Experience targeting and marketing to diverse communities a plus.
  • Experience with health organizations and/or volunteer driven organizations.  Understanding of healthcare and/or cancer space, preferably nonprofit.
  • Experience working with or for athletic events including walks, runs, cycling, skiing, etc. a plus
  • A strong background in Brand Marketing, including new product launches
  • Blend of creative and financial skills with a collaborative & entrepreneurial spirit.  Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.  Professional, strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
  • Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.  Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • Average salary range is $48,901.24 – $70,295.54 , open to further discussion based on geography.
  • Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
