As a social media and content marketing advisor at VIA Rail, you will play a key role in shaping our online brand presence and engaging with our target audience. You will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies, creating compelling content, and fostering meaningful connections with our online community.

Responsibilities:

Social media strategy, planning and execution.
•Implement social media strategies with a goal of growing reach and engagement on VIA Rail’s platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube).
•Plan, manage and execute against monthly and quarterly social content calendar.
•Stay up-to-date with industry trends and platform updates to ensure the company’s social media presence is cutting-edge and effective.

Content creation
• Create high-quality and engaging content for various platforms, including social media posts, infographics, and videos;
• Create custom visuals for specific campaigns, curate library of content and assist other teams in sourcing photos for their specific uses.

Community management and partnerships:
• Monitor and engage with the online community across various social media channels;
• Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive relationships with our audience;
• Build relationship with other brands, industry partners and influencers, to further VIA Rail’s presence and relevance on social media.

Analytics and reporting
• Use analytics tools to track and measure the success of social media campaigns and content performance;
• Provide regular reports on key metrics and insights, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Requirements :
•Bachelor’s in marketing, communications, or a related field;
•Minimum of 6 to 8 years in Marketing with 4 years managing social media for a national companyCompetencies:
• Demonstrated ability to understand brand voice when creating content, while always protecting the brand and eliminating reputational risk;
• Intimate and ongoing knowledge of social media platforms & management tools (i.e.: Sprout, Meltwater, Hood Suite, etc), functionalities, trends and evolution of industry;
• Knowledge of online content creation tools such as CANVA, Adobe Spark, Moovly, etc;
• Team player, understands how to include and involve all players in a company;
•Proven ability to create beneficial and synergistic partnerships with other brands, industry partners and influencers;
•Solid project management, organization, and analytical skills;
•Great communication skills, both in writing and verbal communication, in English and in French;
•Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
