Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role with I Love Manchester for a Video & Social Media Manager.

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic content creator and social media pro to join the core team at I Love MCR.

I Love Manchester is on the hunt for a skilled social media pro to develop a social media strategy to manage and grow our channels as well as, creating content and driving traffic to our website. You will be juggling both organic and commercial content – creating original content and also promoting the interests of our partners and clients.

In this role, you will also be communicating with partners, collating reports from analytics and reporting to the Account Manager and Commercial Director.

The job is based in a Manchester City Centre workplace with lots of natural light and perks but offers the freedom to work from home at least a day or two per week.

In this role, you will be writing captions, post copy, taking photos and bringing news to life with short video content broadcasting our brand values to a combined audience of over 500,000 (and growing) social media followers.

A typical day might involve; capturing photo and video content, repurposing content for different social media channels, repeat scheduling featured news stories, engaging and sharing posts from clients and partners, and monitoring insights.

We are looking for someone who is driven by creativity, but also a real people person who is passionate about all things Manchester and who can bring perpetual positivity to the role.

The ideal candidate is a hard-working team player who will play a critical role in creating original digital content including short videos to publish across various social media channels.

We are looking for a passionate and creative individual with a strong background in creating engaging, high-quality social content, as well as a demonstrable understanding of how social media impacts a brand’s overarching marketing strategy.

You must have an in-depth understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each social platform and feel confident to develop reports for us and our clients on the performance of all social media activity.

As this role will be working with account manager(s), other content creators and partners, we are looking for a strong team player who will bring lots of enthusiasm to this role. This role will require a sociable personality, someone who will represent the brand at all times. Someone who is willing to attend events, and network with the utmost professionalism. Therefore, please note that this is not strictly a 9-5 role.

You will be expected to adhere to and broadcast our brand values, championing Manchester, and reacting with a positive outlook, as well as:

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy
  • Create and produce original content including video, photos and graphics
  • Craft compelling content to promote the brand and its services
  • Analyse insights and populate metric reports
  • Identify and engage local influencers to enhance brand visibility
  • Manage community engagement with prompt response to comments and messages
  • Stay in touch with emerging trends and integrate them into brand strategies
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns
  • Schedule and repeat share editorial content
  • Enhance and expand the company’s social media presence.
  • Monitor industry developments and consume trends to stay ahead of social media trends
  • Cooperate and collaborate with account managers and content creators
  • Cooperate and collaborate with ad clients and partners

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role, in an ecommerce, media or digital marketing-focused company, whether client-side or agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, media or a related field (preferred)
  • High quality video and content creator (necessary)
  • Proficiency in many social media platforms – including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
  • Social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite or similar)
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Chat, Meet, etc.)
  • A strong eye for photography and videography
  • Understanding of insights and analytics with the ability to read and collate reports
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as within a team
  • Above-average marketing and advertising knowledge
  • Excellent people skills and a strong team player

  • Happy to get involved in all aspects of the business.

Remuneration and benefits

  • Salary: £25,000-£30,000 per annum depending on experience
