As the Communications Lead at LI, you will play a crucial role in supporting the LITP (Livestock Information Transformation Programme) in shaping and delivering their communication strategy. You will be responsible for promoting our brand, engaging stakeholders, and raising awareness of our services.

You will play a key role in driving promotion of the benefits of digital livestock movement data and its commercial uses to government and industry while leading the work with Traceability Design User Group (TDUG), industry and key stakeholders to develop marketing and communications opportunities.

Your responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Provide visible high-profile leadership to sector marcomms team.
  • Deliver the marketing and communications strategy for LITP, establishing a campaign approach, KPI performance, evaluation and advising on budget allocation.
  • Deliver a ‘digital first’ approach to communications with teams and colleagues.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing and communications plan and recommend actions to enhance effectiveness where appropriate.
  • Manage the social media and marketing and PR team and manage the relationship with relevant suppliers and agencies.
  • Establish and maintain contact with the industry through participation in meetings/events/open days as required.
  • Support the COO in promoting a positive and collaborative culture that is focused on delivering excellent value for money and LI Ltd corporate vision.
  • Provide technical and tactical support to LITP.
  • Liaise with wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • To work across COO to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs and LI Ltd brand integrity.
  • Drafting of content deemed to be politically sensitive.
  • Line manage Digital & Social Media Manager and Marketing & PR Manager and Senior Communications Manager.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Fully knowledgeable/qualified in marketing and communications sector, including significant practical experience.
  • Understanding of KPI setting and monitoring
  • Experience of livestock, and / or working in and around farming / livestock sector
  • Line management experience.
  • Budgetary experience with proven ability to deliver projects within budget.
  • Good customer service, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a developed understanding of digital marketing, including websites.
  • Experience of working with government departments and agencies
  • Evidence of effective partnership working and understanding of stakeholder dynamics
  • Experience of WordPress.

Desirable Criteria

  • Higher level professional qualification in communications e.g. CIPR, CIM, PRCA

Reporting structure 

This role reports to our Chief Operating Officer.

 

Benefits

The salary range for this role is £55,000 to £65,000.
