Job Title: Digital Content Officer

Responsible to: Head of Digital Communications

Salary: £29,000 to £32,000

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Tenure: Fixed term – 12 months

Location: Remote, or in our London HQ

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

Produce and publish engaging and effective content for the Liberal Democrats’ digital channels, with a particular focus on short format video and under-utilised platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Producing compelling content through graphic design and video editing.
  • As part of the digital communications team, manage the party’s social media channels, focussing on the party’s expansion onto new and under-utlised platforms.
  • Maximise the party’s reach and engagement by using analytics to determine the most effective digital content and delivery.
  • Support the wider communications and leader’s teams in delivering the party’s strategy.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  1. A strong understanding of different digital channels and social media platforms.
  2. Experience of using video editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro.
  3. Experience of using graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop.
  4. Ability to work consistently to high professional standards including to accuracy, honesty, quality, and evidence.
  5. Ability to manage many different projects at once, from assignment through to delivery, in line with deadlines and sign off procedures.
  6. A strong understanding of the UK’s current political environment and how to engage with Liberal Democrat members and with voters.
  7. A commitment to the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.

DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  1. Photography and videography skills.
  2. Copywriting, copy-editing and proofreading skills
  3. Experience of successfully managing social media channels for a high profile organisation, brand, campaign or politician.
