What you’ll do
In your role as a Head of Digital & IT at Volvo Cars UK, you won’t just be leading our digital transformation; you’ll also can make a significant impact on the future of the automotive industry in the UK. Reporting to the UK Managing Director, you are responsible for leveraging technology to guide transformational technology programs and change. You will use your innovative and strategic thinking with global and regional product owners to deliver an exceptional digital experience through digital and IT products for customers, retailers, other 3rd party partners, and employees in the UK and Irish markets.
As our new Head of Digital & IT, you will be an integral member of the Management Team, leading both the Digital and Customer Analytics teams, and overseeing the IT department and Service Desk. Your role involves developing these talents and driving the company’s digital transformation locally in close collaboration with global and local stakeholders. You will be a proactive business enabler, continuously seeking to enhance the experiences of employees, partners, and consumers with a focus on inclusivity and diversity. Leveraging technology, global digital products, and self-service platforms, you will strive to optimize all facets of our operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
•    Leading the Digital Team: You will lead the applications, analytics, infrastructure, procurement, project delivery and service operations in the UK and Irish national sales companies.
•    Overseeing IT Operations: Managing IT functions to ensure seamless technological support and integration. This includes a small portion of traditional hardware and infrastructure responsibilities while also supporting retailer integrations and service desk.
•    Consumer Experience and Insight: Enhancing our capabilities to deliver superior consumer experiences by providing advanced methods and analytical tools for new consumer insights.
•    Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Driving continuous improvement and automation projects aimed at easing the workload for retailers and employees. This involves focusing on adding value, eliminating waste and duplication, and creatively utilizing available tools to foster digital change.
•    Agility and Adaptation: Exhibiting agility and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments. Promoting simplification through digitalization and the replacement of legacy digital products.
•    Risk Management and Cyber Security: Acting as the local lead for Risk Management, you will be responsible for coordinating Business Continuity efforts within the market, ensuring compliance and data integrity while securing the environment through continuous focus on cyber security learnings and practices.

Key qualifications include:

 

  • IT and Digital Expertise: You possess a varied knowledge in IT and digital realms. Comfortable discussing and challenging IT solutions with teams, you can eloquently explain to colleagues and retail partners how technological changes will impact the business.
  • Familiarity with Consumer facing and Enterprise Platforms: You are a utility player and familiar with both consumer digital solutions and enterprise/corporate platforms. You appreciate technology not only for its own sake but for the opportunities it creates in simplifying people’s lives.
  • Passion for Digital Transformation: A fervent advocate for digital transformation, you are dedicated to enhancing customer and user experiences, you like change.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Skilled in tackling unstructured technical challenges to deliver tangible business solutions.
  • People Management :Ability to foster teamwork, resolve conflicts, and motivate team members to achieve common goals

Ideally, you know how to navigate in a large organisation and can set priorities against a clear corporate vision.
