Ellwood Atfield has partnered exclusively with The Alan Turing Institute which champions the data science and AI sector. This organisation is looking for an Interim Marketing Manager on a six month maternity cover, to join the Communications and Engagement Directorate in generating public discussion around the increasing importance of AI and debate as to how it should be regulated.

The Institute is looking for an experienced Marketing professional to optimise brand recognition whilst ensuring increased ability to engage a diverse range of audiences. You will play a vital part in increasing and enhancing the reputation of the organisation, utilising audience analysis to create a programme of compelling communication and marketing campaigns which align with strategic aims and values. An ability to tailor content across academia, the wider research community as well as public and industry audiences with energy is essential.

Key Responsibilities 

  • To create, oversee and deliver innovative marketing and communications activities with measurable performance indicators.
  • Assemble and present audience and marketing/communications insights across the Institute.
  • Utilise knowledge of new marketing and communications techniques and apply in an appropriate manner.
  • Deliver compelling targeted marketing content across a range of channels and audiences to promote key flagship events, such as lecture series and public engagement activity.
  • Regularly monitor organisation’s brand presence across content, partnership activity, events and public engagement activity.
  • Manage a team of creative professionals including a digital content production, design and social media professional.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a marketing and/or communications role in the public or private sector.
  • Experience of promoting marketing events with an ability to drive and measure engagement and participation.
  • Skilled in working with content management systems.
  • Experienced in conducting audience analysis and development.
  • Strong track record of cultivating professional ties with strategic partners, sponsors and managing third party relationships.
  • Experience of manging staff, including freelancers, photographers and contractors.

Please note staff are expected to come to the London office at least once a week and candidates must be immediately available.
