About Us

From humble roots, Meningitis Now have been leading the fight against meningitis for over 35 years and we’re proud of the difference we’ve made. We have a proud history and know that we make a difference to the many people we exist for. We have a clear vision of a future where no-one loses their life to meningitis and where everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives with hope and confidence. We achieve this by: • funding lifesaving and life-changing research • raising awareness of meningitis and influencing policy • providing support to people whose lives have been affected. We have an impressive track record and have played a role in the falling number of meningitis cases in the UK since the 1990s – a reduction largely attributable to the development and introduction of vaccines into the NHS routine immunisation schedule. But our work is not complete. We have recently launched a new strategic plan, Making a difference, every day. This builds on our history and outlines our priorities for next five years: 1. Fight to defeat meningitis in the UK within a generation 2. Reach out to everyone who needs help, support and information 3. Be recognised as a Centre of Expertise for aftercare and support We believe that these are the right priorities to help shape and guide our charity, not least for the many people who need our help and support. If you join us, you will join a group of committed colleagues, Trustees and a wonderful community of supporters, Ambassadors, Volunteers and Patrons as well as the people we support – a community we like to think of as the ‘Meningitis Now family’.

Equal Opportunities

We want to represent the breadth and diversity of the UK and particularly welcome expressions of interest from a diverse range of professional and personal backgrounds.

Right to Work

Meningitis Now, as dictated by law, is duty-bound to demonstrate that we hold proof of eligibility to work in the UK for all our employees. Therefore we are unable to consider applications from candidates who are unable to provide this.

Safeguarding

Meningitis Now is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The suitability of all prospective employees or volunteers will be assessed during the recruitment process. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Disclosure Form prior to interview and the successful candidate will be required to complete regular safeguarding training and undertake a DBS check and the appropriate level for the role.

This application will be anonymised to begin with – so your personal information won’t be shown to the hiring manager until they choose to reveal it. You should be careful not to put any identifying information in your answers to any extra application questions.
