Sam’s Social Media Club is helping Steven Gerrard Academy find a Marketing Specialist.

Obsessed with football? Looking for a career in football marketing? Do you have the ability to create content that connects with people aged 16-21?

Steven Gerrard Academy provides a leading football and education programme to young people aged 16+ throughout the U.K. Alongside this, we offer elite playing programmes to international players who wish to live, train and play in either Liverpool, Alicante, or Belfast. Our UEFA A Licence coaches ensure we get the best out of our players on the pitch, and our expert tutors ensure academic excellence in the classroom.

We are obsessive in our mission to grow the programmes we offer. To support this mission, the marketing team is expanding and looking for someone who wants to combine their passion for football with a career in marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as we head into our next phase of growth and you will become a vital part of ensuring the success of the programmes and help to grow the brand internationally.

Alongside Steven Gerrard Academy, the successful candidate will support the marketing efforts of Ahead in Sport, a sister company of Steven Gerrard Academy.

Ahead in Sport work globally with organisations and academic institutions, providing industry expertise and supporting curriculum development to create unique and innovative programmes, including the award-winning BSc(Hons) in Applied Football Studies, a 3 year full-time undergraduate online degree.

Responsibilities:

1) Content Creation: Travel to training sessions, games and various locations to capture content. Develop high-quality written and visual content, such as blog posts, articles, graphics, and videos, to be used across digital channels.

2)Opportunity to manage a team of junior content creators who will be working across our locations nationwide.

3) Social Media Management: Create engaging and relevant content for social media platforms to promote the programme, games, special events and highlights. Monitor social media channels and engage with followers to build a community of football enthusiasts.

4) Execute Digital Marketing Campaigns: Collaborate with the marketing team to implement and optimise digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email marketing, search engine marketing, and display advertising.

5) Website Management: Assist in maintaining and updating the team’s website by creating and editing content, managing plugins and integrations, and monitoring website analytics to identify areas for improvement.

  • An ability to develop new marketing concepts and techniques.
  • A clean driving licence and a car for travel.

Desirable

  • A degree in marketing or similar.
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • A background in sport.

Details

Hours: 40 per week

Salary: £21k – £26k

Location: Woolton, Liverpool
