Sam’s Social Media Club is helping carpe diem find a Multimedia Editor.

carpe diem is a multimedia lifestyle magazine that inspires people to take time to live a good life. It sees itself as a low-threshold prevention ambassador and therefore deals with the areas of life nutrition, exercise, relaxation and awareness as well as – implicitly – with social interaction. It always feels committed to a holistic, evidence-based understanding of health – as well as a good dose of lightness. Because we believe that a healthy life doesn’t have to be strenuous or boring. To convey exactly that to our community, we are looking for you!

We are looking for a multimedia editor in Vienna. In this role, you will oversee a wide range of communication channels (and their communities), develop and design content formats and work in close coordination with the editorial team as well as internal and external stake holders.

THE ROLE

Use personal strengths

Areas of responsibility and tasks in which something can be achieved:

Editorial/Content Management

You create and revise content formats across all channels (e.g. newsletters), support the editorial support of video shoots, coordinate content with external content creators and have a good feel for how to translate print content and topics for a digital ecosystem. You have an excellent sense of language (Wolf Schneider is your hero) as well as a good graphic eye and experience with SEO and keyword research. You are enthusiastic about our topic worlds and derive relevant articles/content pieces from them that create clear useful value for our brand and our community.

Organization/Voting

You are well organized and work in a structured manner – in close coordination with the print editorial team and corresponding departments (e.g. sales, marketing, TV, book publishing, direct-to-consumer, publishing management).

Social Media/Community Support

You are sure-footed and empathetic on social media. Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and TikTok are your natural habitat. You continually monitor current trends and developments in digital channels, identify potential and find creative solutions. You keep an eye on KPIs (e.g. posting performance) as well as the needs of our community.

Experience and previous achievements count here

Relevant to the role:

  • Strong editorial understanding and serious journalistic approach
  • Hands-on mentality, independent, performance-oriented and well organized
  • Creativity and excellent communication skills
  • Team spirit and a high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  • Solution-oriented, flexible, able to work under pressure
  • Preferably first professional experience in the field of multimedia editing
  • You are excited about new things and open to every challenge
  • Studies at a university or technical college in the field of journalism/communication/new media as well as relevant practical experience with digital journalism
